In olden times, the whales were captured 
for their commercial value of their meat
and their fat which were used in the 
making of candles. Today, the whales are
protected by both indigenous peoples and
recent governments. 

Antiguamente las ballenas eran capturadas 
por su valor comercial tanto por su carne 
com su grasa la cual la utilizaban para la
fabricacion de velas, en la actualidad es
protegida tanto por los indigenas como por
los gobiernos de turno.
