Alfonso's exposure to computers began in the days when the Commodore 64's were considered state of the art technology, and color printers featured in science-fiction movies. At that time Alfonso became a proficient programmer in Turbo Pascal, BASIC, DOS batch programming and other now-obsolete technology. While he majored in the humanities, he completed several courses in computing technology which became the foundation for his present-day activities in the field.

While presently employed by the prestigious HP Canada (Hewlett-Packard) in a technical analyst capacity, he held a similar position for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce for ten years. Concurrent with these activities, he has engaged in entrepreneurial projects. A small sample of his work in the area is provided below:
