Poet

Alfonso made his debut appearance before an audience at the tender age of nine, on a mother's day, when he was requested to recite a poem before 1,500 mothers at his elementary school of "Gustavo Vides Valdez" in El Salvador. He delighted the audience with the famous "Redondillas" by Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, better known as the first Latin American feminist.

From there onwards he was known as a performer, and at every school gathering he was called upon to recite poetry, sing songs, and participate in other entertainment activities.

By the time he was fifteen years old he had written several poems and works of his own, and in 1997 he authored his first book, "Breaking Into the Bilingual Market in Canada", which would propel him as a talented writer in the community. He has since authored several poems and penned many short stories and non-fiction articles in varied areas such as sports and health.

Below is a sample of his works in this area:

Al Hispano-Canadiense

Buscando una nueva guarida
Dejé mi patria querida
Buscando cicatrizar una gran herida,
Encontré una nueva vida
En el Toronto donde está erguida
Una torre majestuosa bien conocida

Jacqueline, Mon Amour!

Jacqueline mon amour, Llegaste a mi vida en el momento mas inesperado, Cuando el sol estaba a punto de ocultarse en el horizonte, Y las estrellas iniciaban su parpadeo infantil nocturno.

Oda a Nieve J.J.

En aquella noche veraniega, Tan despampanante Nieve llega, Con su belleza ella ciega Cuando su presencia se despliega...

Dreamer of Dreams

Claudio had a dream. He says "it's true!" And he beams, Sono nato due bambini! The great pride of the Pellegrini!
